Not In This Economy

Are we going to buy food or buy fuel??

Commercial transportation is undergoing an exciting transformation that will have an impact not just on our sector but also on the communities in which we all operate. While change can be unsettling at times, given the current situation of the economy, I am really happy to be a part of NTS’s campaign to introduce natural gas vehicles in Kenya. As natural gas is less expensive than other on-road fuels, both consumers and the economy stand to benefit. By assisting in lowering dependency on petroleum-based fuels in the transportation sector, natural gas pathways contribute to energy security. They also assist to reduce emissions, which are damaging to the environment because exhaust fumes along the highway destroy trees and other vegetation on a small scale while contributing to global warming on a larger scale. Electric motors, on the other hand, are simpler, which means they are easier to maintain and will last longer. Keeping them charged is less expensive than buying gas, an advantage that will become more significant as gas prices continue to rise.
